After winning the poster prize at the DGBM conference 2024 in Berlin for her research on non-invasive decontamination of silicone surfaces, the corresponding original article has now been published in Bioactive Materials.
In cooperation with the Laser Center Hannover and the Technical University of Braunschweig, Romina developed a bioactive, long-term stable coating for silicone that enables bacteria to be killed in a targeted and non-invasive manner by light irradiation, thus effectively sterilizing the surface.
The Biomaterials & Polymers Working Group and the entire institute congratulate her on this success.
