Summer party and institute field trip to HAJ

Last week, on August 13, 2025, the traditional PCI summer party and the institute field trip to Langenhagen/Hannover Airport took place. With temperatures reaching a sweltering 35°C in the midday sun, the institute's employees set off for the airport, sweating but in good spirits. Although there were no air-conditioned rooms here either, they were treated to 90 minutes of interesting insights into the airport's operations such as the baggage system and an exploration of the apron by bus.

At the end of the tour, visitors were able to enjoy the fantastic view of the Airport and the Hanover skyline from the visitor terrace. In addition to many new impressions, a few interesting tips for the next flights were also taken: Don't forget to book your security check time slot online in advance free of charge to avoid long queues and pick up your boarding pass early to be as well protected as possible in case of delays or flight cancellations.

On the way back to the institute, a few peaches were quickly purchased to round off the white wine punch. With a barbecue, more cool drinks, and a well-stocked potluck buffet, the day ended nicely in the institute's courtyard after the excursion.
