Team Polymers and Biomaterials

As a team led by Prof. Dr Marie Weinhart, we combine our diverse expertise to develop materials that interact selectively with cells and tissues—or prevent such contact altogether. We create surfaces whose properties can be rapidly and precisely altered, integrating advanced polymer synthesis with biotechnology. Our research focuses on how the structure, chemistry and texture of a material’s surface influence biological responses. Our ambition is to design smart biomaterials that set new standards in medicine and scientific research.
