Team Thermo-iono-electronic Materials and Microstructure Analyis

Our team, led by Associate Professor Armin Feldhoff, investigates materials capable of conducting entropy, ions, electrons and the accompanying forms of energy: heat, electrochemical energy and electrical energy. By combining targeted synthesis with state-of-the-art microstructural analysis down to the sub-nanometre scale, we thoroughly characterise these materials. Our research focuses on enhancing their properties for applications including thermoelectric generators and gas separation membranes. Concurrently, we develop innovative concepts for sustainable energy conversion and material separation technologies.
